Middle School Academic Program

Hastings Middle School and Jones Middle School offer opportunities for our students in grades 6 through 8 to continue to build a strong academic foundation in math, language arts, science and social studies. At the middle level, students are able to earn high school-level credit in math, science and global language. There, they also can begin their journey in Upper Arlington’s renowned performing arts program by pursuing orchestra, band or vocal music — and they may also engage in semester-long electives such as visual art, technology education, life skills, general music, health and physical education.

Students who reside in the Barrington or Tremont attendance areas attend Jones Middle School. Families have the option to go through the open enrollment process to apply to attend the middle school outside their attendance area.
