About Hastings
Hastings Middle School is one of two middle schools in the Upper Arlington school district. It has served the Upper Arlington community since 1961. Today, it serves more than 700 students in grades 6 through 8.
Hastings is the middle school of residence for students living in the Greensview and Windermere attendance areas.
Purple Star Recognition
Hastings Middle School is proud to be one of Ohio's Purple Star Schools for the Class of 2026. This recognition from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce honors schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families. Schools earning this distinction implement practices that address the unique academic and wellness needs of students whose families serve in the military. To earn the Purple Star designation, schools must meet rigorous criteria, including designating a staff member to serve as a liaison for military families, maintaining resources and supports tailored to their needs, and fostering school-wide awareness of the experiences of military-connected students.
